As we enter a new year it is important to highlight some of the women that are crushing it in business and create a list of notable women to watch in 2021. In this article we want to celebrate and highlight some amazing female entrepreneurs and business women who are serving their communities, going out of their way to step up as leaders and making an impact in the world.
Here is a list of women that we felt are important to highlight and that you should be following online to see what they are going to be doing in the new year ahead.
Here is our WIB list of Women to Watch in 2021Â
#1 Claire LockeyÂ
Claire is an up and coming Canva and Content Marketing Strategist and Coach who empowers service based female entrepreneurs and virtual assistants to learn how to create intentional content, design beautifully branded digital resources and use organic content marketing strategies to reach their ideal audience and grow their business online.Â
Claire started her business back in 2017 alongside her part-time job and raising her young son, charging just £10 an hour as a Virtual assistant. In 2019 Claire decided she needed to focus more on doing the things she loved and found her niche – working with women to create and design amazing content and teaching them how to use that content strategically within their business.
After finding her true calling, in 2020 Claire decided to up-level her business in a big way by showing up confidently and authentically, embracing her brand and voice as an expert. She was accepted to become a Canva Certified Creative and she started to contribute her expertise online, collaborate with other communities and in 2020 supported over 125 women through her 1-2-1 coaching, strategy calls, courses and client work.Â
She started her own FB group the Content Styling Lounge and now has almost 400 members. Towards the end of 2020 she also started her Pinterest account and in just 3 months grew it to 650,000 monthly impressions and 36,500 engaged users (and growing rapidly!).
Claire has been an integral part of the Women in Business team since the inception and she has helped shape WIB Brand, content and online presence with great commitment and dedication.
Now, Claire is ready to spread her wings and in 2021 will launch her own 12 week coaching programme and her second signature program ‘The Content Collective’.
Claire is dedicated to continuing to deliver value, encourage, inspire and teach women in business to find their voice and shine through their content.Â

Remote Photographer and Brand Strategist, Joanne Moorhouse started off 2020 with big goals in the works. When Covid hit she lost her full time job as well as any secure income. Her client work quickly dried up and within 24 hours she was left wondering what to do next with her business
Not one to give up Joanne took action and became a member of the Women in Business Club. She also worked with a Photography Mentor, as well as participated in a mastermind for female entrepreneurs that helped her to stay focused and take action in the right direction. Â
She was determined not to fade away but find a way to move forward. A team of 2 Sisters, Veronica & Alora are next on our list! Two amazing ladies who created SAM & LANCE, a beautiful space where conscious consumers can easily shop products that are made ethically and sustainably by women!Â
In 2020 this dynamic duo got a placement in an accelerator program and successfully won the pitch contest that led to receiving funding. The funding was then used to help launch a subscription box line featuring quarterly boxes filled with ethically made products made by women. They’ve exceeded their goals and their wonderful brand continues to go from strength to strength.Â
Veronica and Alora launched “care crates’ when COVID hit as a way of giving back. For each box sold, gifting a box to frontline healthcare workers. They wanted a way to give back and help others feel like they were doing something good in a time when we all felt nervous and helpless.Â
The sisters have managed to grow their business year on year by 2000%, even during the pandemic! Their courage, innovation and determination shines through and inspires so many women that success CAN be had, even during difficult times.Â
